Itinerary:

1 day

• Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Hotel accommodation. 
• 09.30  Bus excursion "Three centuries of Petrozavodsk" with a visit of the museum of geology featuring rock, ore and mineral collections of Karelia and Fennoscandia and a unique collection of stromatolites of Karelia and the world.
• 12.30 Departure to Kizhi Island by hydrofoil (travel time: 80 min). Kizhi is an island on the Onego Lake in the Karelia Republic with an ensemble of wooden churches and houses. You will have an opportunity to see the unique masterpieces of national wooden architecture which is UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• 18.00 Return to Petrozavodsk. Supper in café / hotel.

 

2 day

• Breakfast. Room vacation.
• 10.00 Bus excursion “Ancient volcanoes of Karelia”. Petrozavodsk - Martian Water health resort (the first Russian health resort established by Peter the Great where you can taste curative mineral waters from natural springs) – Girvas volcano – Kivatch nature preserve – Kivatch waterfall.
• Picnic in Kivatch nature preserve.
• Return to Petrozavodsk. Transfer to the train station. Departure.
